Bulk Audio Importer

There is a window called Bulk Audio Importer under the Window -> Master Audio menu in Unity. It looks like the image below. It is also available to purchase as a standalone in the Unity Asset Store.

This window helps you to do bulk edits on your Audio files, such as changing the compression bit rate of X clips at once or setting all music to streaming. It also is useful because you can sort by any of the column headers, and filter by name by wildcard as well. Some usage pointers:

  1. When you first open this window, you will need to click the Scan Project button to populate the grid.
  2.
  3. If you change any field on an Audio Clip row, the row will become selected, indicated by it becoming highlighting (blue). Each field that has been changed will display with blue background. When you want to apply changes to all selected rows, click the Apply Selected button. Or you can Revert Selected as well.
  4.
  5. Click on the column headers to sort. Click the same header again to alternate between ascending and descending sort, indicated by the arrow in the column header.
  6.
  7. Bulk Mode: if you check this box, any change you make to any selected row will make the change to all selected rows.
  8.
  9. There are filters you can use as well to manage the number of visible items:

    • Typing in the Full Path Filter textbox will hide all clips whose folder + name doesn't contain the text. This is case-insensitive.
    •
    • There is a Folder dropdown that contains a list of all folders containing Audio Clips. You can select a single folder to filter the list, or select [All] - the default. This will hide all clips not in the selected folder.
  10.
  11. The main grid section will scroll if there are more than about 16 clips.
  12.
  13. Whenever you add or delete clip while Unity is open, if you want to see them in this window, you will need to click Scan Project again to grab them.
